i had a chaotic neutral player once that was trying to convince a lawful evil player that it was wrong to kill a goblin when they both work for some guys who were telling them to kill goblins

LE player remembered CN of his alignment and he intantly killed the goblin

GM: You see a beggar in the snow, what do you do?

CN: I plink him in the face with copper pieces while making fun of him.

    GM: Dafuq?

CN: Then when I run out of money I grab him and say “okay, it’s your turn, let’s switch places!”

GM: He freaks out and runs away.

CN: I chase him, sword out, and shout “Come back and be my friend you little broke bitch!”

No. It would be in character to give him money if his character wasn’t greedy or an asshole. It would also be in character for him to find the local Lord who overtaxed him into poverty, burn down his manor house, and steal his dog.

As long as they don’t go from a broken begger voice to an aristocratic voice in half a sentence because of a shit voice acting budget.
