This small red Japanese maple is barely hanging on to it’s late fall foliage.

    It depends on the species and your climate. Most deciduous trees are fine being watered once a week if kept outside over winter. If you’re climate is extremely cold you may need to bring them into a greenhouse or other protected space to prevent the roots from getting damaged.
