Well if he wasn’t considered a Russian mouthpiece before,

This guy’s gone full benedict arnold as far as I see. Might have had noble intentions initially, but in the end he turned complete traitor and stooge for the enemy.

He’s never been on the ground anywhere it happened. And he was never a reporter. He was a government IT worker. Who stole classified information with the proper intent of whistleblowing on government action. But then dumped it in the hands of a Russian asset. Fleeing the country ending up in Russia himself to become another asset. I think his initial intent was good. But I wouldn’t take anything he says these days too seriously. He’s an asset of the FSB whether or not he wants to be. And he would tell you the same if he was free too. But he cannot speak his mind. And he cannot call out all those behaving badly. Just those that Russia allows him.

Because if there’s anything that says principled anarchist it’s stooging for the position that conveniently achieves your authoritarian host country’s geopolitical goals.

Gonna have to change the voting and/or representation system if you want to change the voting strategy. I suggest Approval Voting. It’s dead simple and very effective. Vote for everyone you like, and nobody you don’t.

2 quick questions for you. Considering no 3rd party candidate has ever won. Stood a chance of actually winning. Or even regularly broken double digits in polling. If enough non Republican voters disalusioned and don’t vote or vote 3rd party. Who will win.

Assuming you can be honest enough to answer such an obvious question. While also assuming that you’re honest enough to acknowledge that while Democrats are very flawed and problematic Republicans would absolutely be worse. By trying to suppress the Democratic vote whose water are you carrying?

You misunderstood me. I’m saying that even if blue is obviously better than red, you can still criticize blue. You can criticise a party and still vote for it.

But this community (like most American communities in my limited experience) seems to think that criticizing blue automatically means endorsing red. At least that’s how I interpreted the downvotes. And that kind of thinking only strengthens this dumb divide into only two political camps.

Critique is fine sure. This wasn’t critique. The post is outright lies and misrepresentations. Ironically the only critiques existing anywhere in these threads are the posts under it critiquing the main post. I’m no fan of Biden. I’m not looking forward to voting for him. But I am damn well going to vote for him. Because all alternatives are worse. We don’t need to make up shit about him to critique him on. And valid critique can only come from valid complaints.

You’ve been here as long as I have basically. It’s possible you haven’t engaged much in these communities and therefore are unaware of the situation. But Ozma is a known quantity. Highly dishonest lying and manipulative. And not someone who should be defended. Someone who is rightfully being called out in a number of their other posts by other people. I’m all for sincere debate and critique. And right now no one is trying to squash or eliminate critique in these threads. They are the ones critiquing.

6 months to the election and people are bending over backwards to defend Biden when we should be demanding more from him in return for our votes. Makes no sense.

And how is he going to do more, with the voting blocs in both houses of Congress as they stand right now?

And with the Supreme Court as it stands, right now?

He’s not a king. We don’t WANT him to be a king. But so many of us demand that he just “finds a way,” to do whatever it is that we want as a voter bribe, this week.

PLEASE STOP MAKING PRESIDENTS FIND MORE AND MORE WAYS TO EXPAND THE POWER OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH, THROUGH EXECUTIVE ORDERS.

Every time a Democrat stretches executive powers to forgive student loans or semi-pseudo-almost-legalize pot, it sets more precedent for Presidents to almost be able to legislate by fiat.

We don’t want MAGA Party presidents to have those powers in the future. Why do I have to spell that shit out, to other adults?

EDIT: You know what’s scary? I can’t even remember the list of executive power usages that made me mad about this problem, the last time I thought about it. It’s all been normalized. All I remember is the most recent ones. If you gave me a list of changes in official, binding US policy from the last twelve years, and asked me to correctly label them with “this change resulted from legislation” and “this change resulted from an executive order,” I guarantee I couldn’t do better than a monkey guessing randomly.

That’s how you get a grotesquely inflated set of executive powers. Stop encouraging that shit. If the Democrats don’t win enough seats to enact legislation that you want, BE AN ADULT AND ACCEPT THAT SHIT. Stop throwing tantrums and threatening to vote for them even less, if they refuse to literally hack the system to give you some shit that you want.

We don’t want the system to be hacked. We want democracy.
