I have a distinct memory of being on vacation with my family the weeks followimg 9/11 and seeing a store’s big sign reading, “nuke the bastards.”
I wondered how anyone could do that when clearly this terrorist group is not representative of the entire population. That would be like bombing a neighborhood to catch a single murderer.
In any event, 20 years of failed US intervention in the middle east was not enough to learn (despite Netanyahu being in power since then). I’m convinced these knee-jerk reactionary fools would be willing to nuke Gaza just the same.
Which is why I’m convinced Netanyahu wanted this attack to occur to justify his little war game.
