I mean, everyone has a type. Even Manson had a fanclub.
Still, 🤮.

Conde Nast doesn’t have an interest in driving away their readers, and AI bullshit absolutely will drive them away. They know this. Ken Fisher is the editorial lead for AI at Conde Nast (not just Ars), and said as much in the comment section.
AI is absolutely fucking things up on a grand scale in all sorts of industries, but as of right now, Ars is relatively safe and I don’t think we need to inflate the scale of the danger.
Makes me miss /r/whatisthisthing.
Edit: I’m a complete dunce, I forgot !whatisthisthing@lemmy.world exists. I’m even subscribed.
I’m not so sure Ars has a vested interest in OpenAI. I actually read through 10 pages of comments. Ken Fisher was pretty active in them, and noted several times that Ars doesn’t see any of the money from this deal.
A document I need to edit for work from 2 days ago.
Y’all nasty.
It’s literally a flag in the account settings.
That said, I think mass copying of Reddit content is the issue. Functionally, yes, Lemmy and Reddit are similar. But they do have different cultures/subcultures. Even within a given topic, when you have both a subreddit and a community, they will like and dislike slightly different things.
I think the solution would be for individual users to bring content (links, memes, etc. - not comments or entire threads) over that they found worthwhile, instead of bulk copying.
Related, with so many free ways to listen to music, by the time I’m spending money on music I’ve already decided it’s worth it. Maybe I’ve listened to it a ton. Maybe the lyrics speak to me. Maybe it’s just a particularly well composed piece of music. Either way, I’ve made the valuation of it being worth it before I spend the money.
Not again…
I can’t wait to get to the point where the status quo isn’t rough.
If you don’t mind me asking, were kids in the mix? It’s been rough anyways, but kids are certainly making it much more so.
I have T-Mobile and don’t have this toggle, so it’s not all accounts.
Edit: Well, ain’t that some shit. I have it in the app, but not online.
I just started a diet and this is challenging my sanity.
I was just saying earlier that I would kill for a good bagel place in town.
Hell, I’d kill for any bagel place in town.
I ditched my first email for first.last@domain.com right out of high school.
It was cringe enough that even 18 year old me recognized it.
That’s my daily. I like it enough that I bought a case and pack it when I travel for work.
Any app I’ve found that can do this requires rooting. Some ROMs include this by default.
Google does not include this setting.
I don’t think the design of the plane allows for it.
In fighters, it blows the canopy, triggers a rocket in the seat that gets the pilot clear of the disintegrating plane, and eventually deploys the chute.
These types of planes don’t have a canopy. They’re also much larger, which means it’s much more difficult to get clear.
I don’t think it’s FOSS, and I’m not sure about mod tools, but I switched from Sync to Boost and have found it to be great. I miss Sync, but it seemed like development had stalled out.
Got me started on Feedly. Still haven’t left, although I’d be surprised if I still had more than a couple of the same feeds from then.
Bean there, done that.
No, I’m not jelly. Or green, I’ve been here a year!
