Happened to me. Got laid off from my dream job and my manager was holding back tears as much as I was.
I felt bad for him for awhile, but ultimately realized he was still the one that chose me over others to let go just because I was last in the door (nevermind that I uprooted and moved halfway across the country for that job).
Eventually, yes. But I’ll be damned if I don’t give it my all to go as deep as possible before it’s necessary.
