Very nice.
I love the overall vibe, and the feeling of the space

Sweet.
You can have a website that scrapes all that noise everywhere else mushes it up into a flavorless paste
Perfect summary. Someone send this to Zuckerberg to use in his next press release.
Fuck everyone else that isn’t me!
Somehow as I read this sentence, stars and stripes and a bald eagle appeared behind it.
Wow. This really blew up.
Just like that guy’s hand!
Lol. Good point.
Dang. Not a scrap of awareness of the irony, in the article.
I’ll bet substantial amounts of money that the claim of “advanced reasoning abilities” will be ruled to be outright fraud, if it ever goes to court.
It’s the same claim made by traveling freak shows about horses that solve algebra problems, and the technology is essentially the same, under all the abstractions - learning models are great at repetition, and don’t understand jack shit, today.
“We’re confident that the AI we sell can take care of everything…except anything we actually want to see get done correctly (such as selling it).”
That’s a great point.
Unfortunately for me, inability to operate a printer was a byline in the gruesome pact I made with unholy dark forces from shadowy realms in order to gain mastery of Vim keystrokes.
Overall, it was a good deal, but I couldn’t print this comic out to save my life, or my soul.
They are solvable problems, and many have already been solved already in some countries.
This is a great point!
Yeah. At least until his yes-men high five him and slap him on the back on his way to board the deep space or deep sea vessel that he designed himself.
But losing 75% of population, I can see some nuclear war breaking out
Seems pretty likely (eventually). I take hope that I’ll be in the direct blast radius, and not a mutilated horribly scarred survivor.
I choose not to think about this one much because it’s well outside my circle of influence.
The current trend sucks, obviously.
But historically, we used to be so much worse to each-other.
There’s reasons (data and practicality) to have faith that things will continue to improve.
But it won’t be enough, for many of us, in many of our lifetimes, so let’s all stay angry and active.
Providing competition against media monopolies is illegal.
If they can’t sell you your memories, they think no one should have them. They will let your memories burn and be lost before they let you own or share them.
They’ll keep this up and they will continue to work to make intellectual property never enter the public domain.
I’m too chicken to be a pirate, myself. But I’m aware that pirates and librarians are the only ones with any intent to preserve works of art for the public.
I mean… Lakes exist, so there’s beaches. Of course, there are differences between ocean and lake beaches (silly song)
But yeah, it’s normal for seeing the ocean for the first time to be a big life event, in these states.
Landlocked, as an economic term, often implies a lack of major shipping ports. (The negative connotation of the term is arguably mainly from the higher prices for everything that has to be shipped in.)
For anyone expecting the economic definition (the more useful one) of “land locked”, this map doesn’t help, because the Great Lakes and the Mississippi River allow massive thriving sea ports for ocean going vessels - in states adjacent to them.
Edit: A map updated for major shipping ports would also be funnier, since Nebraska is extra fucked, in comparison. Although, there’s no border taxes between the states, so the economic disadvantage of being land locked is also drastically reduced, for Nebraska, compared to the usual meaning.
If this was a postcard, it would sell well.
Scribble an address with my less dominant hand, add a stamp, drop in mailbox…
or is it a universe where random chance causes every door to become jammed or otherwise malfunction after being installed?
I think it’s the later. I would provide a source, but I’m currently posting from a universe where no website can work 100% as designed.
Is…uh… Is That a real sticker or pin I could purchase somewhere?
