It used to be like 3€ without music bundled into it. I don’t want Music. Give me that plan back.

That would be great but the reality is that client’s mindsets need to change. I tried to explain to a client that Wordpress is not a good fit for their complex web application and yet they didn’t wanna switch to anything else. People are way too worried about new tech and wanna stick with whatever they know, even if it causes massive problems.
I don’t know, as a millennial I always heard people that I don’t know cassette tapes or vinyls or slide projectors when I was a kid. I was in fact familiar with all of those since this old stuff doesn’t just disappear and was still used around me in some capacity.
I love this old soviet stuff. I’ve got an old Hasselblad camera clone from the Soviet Union. That thing is heavy as fuck and the metal shutter looks and sounds like you’re slamming a garage door. Operating this camera feels like riding a rusty bike on a muddy road and yet the pictures it takes are very decent.
Edit: Here’s a video of the shutter that I took ages ago. Also note how it jerks around the whole camera body despite me holding onto it.
Yeah and carbrain is pretty widespread. Im also surprised how many people who mainly use their car have absolutely no idea about the 49€ ticket, despite it making international headlines every now and then.
Uzumaki vibes
Yeah but it has also been 2 full years since he bought it
Absolutely. I don’t know much about the situation but it seems like the owner had some personal issues and just went radio silent on everyone up until someone made the new instance. The whole situation was definitely mishandled
As someone else said, feddit.de is dead and has been superseded by feddit.org. The original instance has unfortunately been abandoned by its owner.
Like one of the other replies said, it’s a Japanese company. There’s even a neat Wikipedia list
Did anyone try this on real hardware yet? Is it made to perform well on the GameCube or does it really only work well in emulators?
Edit: I just tried it out and it works great on a real GameCube.
Recently got a cheap Gamecube and now I‘m playing through Windwaker and some Double Dash every now and then. It’s insane how good the games still look that support progressive mode through the digital port.
The serial port made a really good video about it recently. This channel is pretty amazing for early internet content.
Short term profit is all they care about until this platform crashes down completely
Not just privacy, mental health too
Not sure what kind of experiences you’re looking for but Ive been running it for a few weeks because Im only using my Windows machine for gaming and thought this would be a better fit.
It feels noticeably faster than regular Windows which is not just due to disabled animations. It somehow just IS a bit faster. You also won’t have the same driver issues and endless fiddling as with Linux. I quite like it overall.
My town has one of the oldest underground wine cellars in Europe with some bottles up to 300 years old. I talked to somebody maintaining the wine cellar and part of the cork replacement procedure that happens about every 50 years is to taste the wine - just a drop though. Apparently it’s pretty awful. His colleague said “You have to taste your way up to one of these!” which sounds like bullshit to me. I bet it doesn’t get better after 1700 more years.
Coding is pretty much the only way to make a site that is both flexible and fast. If you wanna stay with page builders, I’d recommend something like webflow or framer but going with these closed systems is really not that amazing longterm. You’re gonna sink a lot of money into a system that will almost certainly enshittify in the future.
If you’re willing to pick up coding, try to make your own theme with something like Advanced Custom Fields in wordpress or switch to something like Kirby CMS which is more flexible out of the box than wordpress and has great docs.
I agree. I don’t hate wordpress. It seems a bit dated by today’s standards and bloated in some aspects but you can definitely make a solid, fast website with it. It’s getting a bad reputation for its toxic plugin dev scene and crappy sites built using Elementor.
There’s Yattee. Open Source and works quite well.
