  • I’m not OP but I still think about a series of events at my first job.

Would have been like 25 years ago, 3rd year plumbing apprentice and I was out on my own. Next job was for a real estate, the house was empty so I had to pick up the keys and then headed to the house, I was busting for a shit and the empty house was calling me. It was a blocked drain so I pulled up fast, cleared the drain before I shit myself and then went to open the back door… and the key didn’t fit, no problem I think as I heard around to the front… key still didn’t work. Fuck I’m in trouble here, there is no time to get to another toilet. I look around and see the access door into the crawlspace under the house which was pretty high, so I form a plan, use an empty bag to line a bucket and grab toilet paper out of the glovebox and head under with my homemade chamber pot. Do the business, tie the bag up and head to the bin to hide it. Once I open the lid I see the bin is completely empty… I can’t put it in there now so I put it in one of the big tool boxes on the back of the truck.

I ended up getting fired the next day, back then I partied pretty hard and was constantly late etc so definitely don’t blame the boss. But the poop bag was never retrieved from the tool box. So at some point either the boss clearing it out or the next guy given that truck would have found a bag, opened it and see a big fat log.

  • I’m gonna be really cynical here and say they’re hoping people sign up to auto sub which they forgot to cancel.

Was a long time wow played and back before tokens were a thing it was pretty straightforward to just pay for 1 month only of game time. I stopped playing midway through baf and at that point I mostly bought game time with gold but on the few occasions I did pay for 1 month it wasn’t that easy to find the 1 month game time, like the nonauto sub. Then I fired up the game like right before the last xpac, can’t remember the name now and it was near fucking impossible to find game time in the store, it kept trying to get me to buy an auto sub.

  • So I no longer work there but I worked 10+ years as Ops manager in international removals. Once a year we would do a stocktake on all the inbound freight locations, pull aside anything that was out of place and then try and find an owner, most of the items were returned to their owners. But every year there would also be a few items without any identification, I would set these aside myself in the warehouse and then the following year if still unclaimed I would take them home or throw it in the bin.

The best items are 3 x 1.5L bottles of Penfolds Grange & 50g bar of gold.

But other than that there are so many items, a limited edition Beatles Sargent Pepper’s marble pressing with all the inserts intact. Few antique gold mirrors. Artwork. Media centre PC. Dining table and chairs. 2 Herman Miller office chairs, that’s just the stuff I remember while looking around my house now

  • Same, I’ll unpack any electrical item and keep all the packaging including the wire tiers on cords, plastic bags with the tape carefully folded back and pack all of that back up in the box and storage the empty box in my garage incase. I then use the item until it breaks and then 6 years later see the box on a shelf while walking passed, realise I no longer own said item and throw the box away.
