What conservatives think those penalities are are things like “don’t buy from that company anymore” and I really don’t have to explain why that does not work except for the most inane luxury goods and even then it’s a coin toss if people actually do anything. That’s by design, of course, to make it sound like it works when it really just doesn’t.

From my experience they beliece that a vote cast comes with a bunch of subtext that the people who now have the power will actually care about. So they are ok with gay people and the homophobe they just voted in better be careful!

I kinda get it. Boeing may just be trying to improve their image but they’re doing it during an active investigation. Considering just how little they’ve cared in the past this may an attempt to garner sympathy from the public before everything is done.

The good people would probably either not want to waste their time hurting people or they would get tired of it very quickly(we ain’t all perfect). Like if Trump died I’d be elated but it’s because he would no longer be poisoning the world with his presence and not because I personally want to beat his face in for eternity.

To be honest I think the hell I would want for these people would be a forced injection of critical thinking skills and empathy, with mandatory classes on all of the harm they did, so they could ultimately be their own punishment. At that point the most participation I would want would be my turn explaining how they people hurt me and the people I care about.

I remember, and maybe I misunderstood, when he was up against Biden last time and the biggest issue he had was that Elizabeth Warren’s similar message split votes. She was clearly losing but for some reason stayed in and siphoned votes away from him just long enough for him to back out.

More people wanted either Sanders or Warren than wanted Biden but ya’ll ended up with Biden. We have the same problem here in Canada where more vastly more people hate the Conservatives than support them and yet that party always ends up dangerously close to gaining power.

Does your dad have hobbies or anything? I find the ones most ready to start making shit up seem to be the ones who just work until they go home and then do basically nothing once they get there. Such little interaction with the rest of the world isn’t healthy.

It probably does, but I’m just not sure for how long. It’s a lot of force placed in very awkward places. You would need high tolerances so the slop won’t be magnified towards the other end and the leverage would also mean that any imperfection(easy to pick up since the mechanism in unshieldable and on the rim) would very quickly reduce those tolerances to a cheap joke.

I tried to get more to do but my direct manager/senior coworker was too paranoid to let me touch anything else even though he was insanely overworked.

See those people don’t actually like corruption, they just like winning. If they lose then corruption is bad, if they win then it’s just being clever. So they’d still hate him, probably moreso.

I mean yes if they come out saying that Zionism is cool actually then they’ll have a big problem on their hands(and so they would deserve). If they come out saying Zionism is kinda fucked up and genocide is bad then the only people who would be mad are the kinda people who can go fuck themselves and also probably don’t make up a significant amount of their customer base. Any that actually do listen to their music, in the face of any ridicule from others on the right, probably also are at least anti-genocide enough to not stop listening to those artists.

It’s all hypothetical, of course, but I’d say it’s a safe bet. They probably just want to stay neutral and not catch strays which I sorta get. High profile people don’t need the security risk from all the bomb threats and shit.
