I will be migrating as soon as I can on here, and am making plans to start the “first” full sublinks instance when it reaches somewhat stability for production (sublinks.art). For transparency though, I am contributing to the project within the capacity that I am able to so I’m probably biased.

For context, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes when it comes to lemmy admin stuff especially in the matrix channels. There is a significant frustration and lack of confidence in the lemmy developers at this point. Even those who try to contribute to the project get eventually feeling pushed out.

It’s an outcome of puritanical Protestantism in the modern day. It’s nicknamed prosperity theology. Lack of wealth is seen as a moral failure, rather than a societal one. To be wealthy is to be granted abundance by God, and to be poor is to be punished for misdeeds in the eyes of God. It’s a cruel ideal that is deeply embedded into right wing American religious spaces.

Once prominent celebrities and more news agencies start to come (and they will, the BBC is a sign of that) the culture will shift faster than you really realize. There is still an insular culture around the fediverse that tends to be a big barrier around entry for “normies” right now. Going on a mastodon instance as a new user with limited technical knowledge can be quite jarring especially if you step out of line of what it seen as culturally fitting for the fediverse

I’m sorry, but this just isn’t good advice especially if this post is referring to arthritis, ME/CFS or other autoimmune conditions which is where most moderate to severe joint pain stems from. Arthritis is a debilitating autoimmune condition that requires consistent medical treatment to address the underlying autoimmune issues that causes it. Alongside that, moving and forcing yourself to be active with persistent joint pain will only worsen the overall damage and inflammation that autoimmune conditions cause towards joints.
