If I had more physical GB/GBA carts I’d pull the trigger. But while I have a Steam Deck and plenty of other devices with good emulation, I can’t justify $250+ for a device to play retro games!

Quick personal note on the U4T’s, after about a year, I’ve had multiple fail on me, they’ll require multiple taps to work. I’m going to look for a new tactile switch soon.
Nice
Thank you! This is super helpful to know, I’ve got “Wait!” on, it’s the knowing “who can do what when” that I’m not in the “flow” of yet, but I’m sure it’ll click soon.
I’ve avoided guides outside of getting stuck (didn’t see the Arris Dome ladder and had to look it up) and I’d like to keep it that way outside of unlocking some cool weapons/items later.
Any recommendations on when I should focus on grinding and what special mid/late game items I should look up guides for? I’m about to go to Site 32 and can’t decide if I should be grinding much or just pushing through with the story. Good call on the chests, but I doubt I’ll be able to stay on top of remembering that!
DAMN, hella amazing memories you are sharing! Also wanted to give Earthbound a go as well.
Don’t know yet, probably gonna see how this run goes. I’m hoping it sinks its teeth into me and I want to play multiple runs!
Dope! I didn’t even think of that! Thank you
First time playing Chrono Trigger, on Steam Deck (Steam version not emulated, I know! I know!). I’m enjoying it although I’m suffering from early RPG slowness and trying to push through. Hoping the Steam version holds out, seems like every update of Proton is nerve wracking. Love the music and art style. I do feel like I lose doors or POIs easily and I need to get better/quicker with the battle UI.
Doesn’t have to be a standard numpad, I’m open to smaller designs where I can do additional macros.
A part of me is like “that’s so dope… maybe it’s worth checking out”… then I’m like “$300+ on a laser lighter or expensive AF NYC dispo weed and a BIC”
Awww man, it’s raining, this ain’t gonna work 😉
Same reason I started using it. Do you have an easy way to put it out? The case I use has a metal tube to extinguish the flame and stop the wick from burning once it’s out.
Do you use the yellow flame or a torch flame zippo insert? I’ve got an old zippo case from college that I can use, so I might order the insert and try it. It’s a little frustrating you have to buy a full Zippo for a specific case style and can’t order it with a specific insert like the torch flame. But this might be the way I go! Don’t know if I can use the wick with it in some way.
I can hear and smell this photo… why do I suddenly want sweets and fizzy pop?
Similar to Glide said above, wanted a space sim and realize it’s more of a survival game. On the opposite end I played a little Elite Dangerous which was WAY TOO INVOLVED space sim!
One of those games I’m glad I bought at launch, although I’ve fired it up 3-4 times and struggled with the mechanics… it’s nice to know it’s still evolving and I can always start fresh again with the new content. If I wasn’t so deep into Helldivers I’d give it another go right now… but Democracy can’t wait!
This is probably the one for me, really digging the level of customization and it’s easy to navigate.
Thanks everyone for the comments so far, I’m including 3 screenshots of how a post looks in all 3 locations (Memmy, Photon & Arctic)
I think Arctic is the winner for me, I like the layout and settings. Also Memmy removed the swipe from left to access subscribed communities and it’s been impossible to get out of the habit, Arctic seems to do it!
Memmy doesn’t like Markup it seems 🤷🏻♂️ happy to post plain text logs if that helps
This was the “oh shit” hype moment for me, as well as Yotei obviously. When I moved to the US all I had was my red PSP while I slept on a couch at my mom and grandma’s place in middle of nowhere Tennessee. I knew nothing about this games past, but I needed an escape at the time, decided to spring for Lunar Silver Star Harmony. I fell in love with this game, the music and anime cut scenes. Very excited to play it again on my TV and also try the sequel. Although I need to get mentally prepared for all the Nall dialogue!
