I am actually considering getting an EV for transporting my Cello :/

It’s unfortunately not possible to reliably transport it by bike (strong winds, icy conditions on my rather hilly ride to the city). Makes me miss out on re-joining an orchestra.

Everything else (groceries, work,…) would still be by bike, just… That. Though I kinda hate the idea.

It’s an uphill battle for sure. And you have to think about and set your own limits. I hate using WA, but for some contacts, it’s better than having NO contact.

If it’s a >10 people group that has already been established on WA, you’re probably out of luck. If a group has not been established yet, your best bet is probably to be super proactive: “Yes, good idea, let’s do make a group! Here, I’ve set up the Singal group, just scan this QR code to join! Oh, you don’t have signal? Oh, nevermind, it’s super quick to set up, and then you can simply join via the QR! I’d really hate to see you not be part of the group chat, but of course it’s up to you if you want to join…”

Most of them. Family is fully on Matrix/Signal/Threema. Close friends are all on Signal. Some acquaintances are still WA-only, but I’ve stopped telling people that I have WA/Telegram, so new contacts are Signal/Matrix/Threema only.

I mean… “To fear”? No. But There are plenty legitimate to remove comments and posts that have nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, to do with mod overreach or censorship.

• removing derailing threads from heated discussions
• removing the annoying “just asking questions” people from LGBTQ+ safe spaces
• removing posts accidentally posted into the wrong community
• removing troll posts
• banning repeat troublemakers not willing to follow the rules
• removing aggressive, sexist, racist,… posts

On the other hand, anti-moderation people only ever seem to come up with “but I want to be able to post whatever I want!”

“Free speech” in this context means: you can go create your own instance or community, with blackjack and hookers! And mods can use the tools at their disposal to enable the rest of us to not have to deal with bullshit.

If you are technically inclined: self host Jellyfin, use one of the various music streaming apps for it. Put the money you would have paid for x years of subscription into buying the albums.

Bei mir (ewig her) war der Druck und das Leiden schon jahrelang präsent, aber ich hatte quasi keine Bildung im Bezug auf trans Menschen und ihre Erfahrungen. Trans als Begriff war mir irgendwo bekannt, aber als abstraktes Konzept, nicht als Sache, die “ganz normale” Leute wie ich sein konnten.

Hab irgendwann absolut zufällig einen Erfahrungs- bzw. Rauskommensbericht einer trans Frau gelesen, und mit ziemlicher Panik festgestellt: das ist 1:1 mein Erfahren und meine Gefühle. Oh fuck oh shit.

Hat auf einen Schlag jahrelange Ängste und Leiden rekontextualisiert. Bin quasi in einem Nachmittag trans “geworden”.
