Honestly germans seem to love to dunk on their own infrastructure. Pedestrian, bicycle and public transport infrastructure truly is on another level compared to the US. Why this is the case? I believe its because cities where already in place when the car was invented. In the US they were built for the car as a mode of transport when European cities where built in a way that was a lot more pedestrian friendly.
While the punctuality of DB (German railway operator is a mess) local regional trains can be pretty consistent and overall cities have a well built out priority, since we had to accommodate for so many peoples transport withoutbeingg able to built them as car friendly since the urban centers where already built. while the funding somewhat lacks today, this made public transport also an important thing people look out for.
Bicycle infrastructure can also be hit or miss depending in the region, but generally it is also on the radar of planners and there’s plenty of routes, although they’re nothing like the Netherlands.
Germans also really like shitting on their own country and being really critical which comes with its own upsides and downsides. For rural areas the car is definitely really important for getting around tho
I think its mostly that the other side is just so much More radical. I still refuse to believe half the americans would vote for Trump again after all that has happened
Bro you were supposed to use autocorrect…
FreeTube on desktop and Tubular on mobile btw
But this is the US… and its kind of a double standard if you’re not arrested for drawing but for generating it.
Then also every artist creating loli porn would have to be jailed for child pornography.
I’d have gotten that guys data and reported the host to AirBNB!

Although not open source, I use Obsidian since its really extensible, works completely local and has open source extensions. I thought about using Logseq too. I’d never trust Microsoft with my personal notes tho.
Where have we seen this on a wide scale?
Damn, I didn’t expect to get this insightful knowledge about womens takes on DP today!
Far right nationalism doesn’t benefit capitalism the way you think it does. Do you have any evidence to go off of that big corpos are actually pushing far right agenda. In germany in Saxony for example the medium sized companies are running ad campaigns against far right extremism since we rely on immigration and skilled labor from abroad since we don’t have enough people to fill all the jobs ourselves. No immigration would literally hurt the economy. I don’t know what you’re on about.
Populism is existent in every democracy. It does not solely stem from capitalism. People like hearing simple answers to complex problems which doesn’t work.
I’m not speaking about the U.S. with its screwed electoral college and first-past the post system. I’m speaking out of the perspective of a German where we have a strong representative democracy with rampant populist parties having major influence in politics due to the amount of people that vote for them.
Go back to beehaw lmao. Even democracies struggle to vote for people actually working towards a greener future. Surely this time a revolution will bring a solution
If I write job/*in that puts an emphasis on how the jobs default is a male person, with that weird female inclusivity attached. If we just accepted that the gender neutral way is the common masculine form which applies regardless of the gender I think its more beneficial.
The gender star is anything but gender neutral. It highlight the different genders artificially and still makes the female variant of the word the second choice by separating it like this /* This differentiates it from the default general masculine word which is supposed to include everybody and further strengthens the image of the man as the default in a certain job. I’m sorry but I strongly disagree with you on this one.
And for non-Native german speakers, if this sounds confusing that is because it is!
